Land Rover Project
(NOT a restoration)

buning the midnight oil

When Gary, my husband, found out that we will be stationed in RAF Mildenhall, UK, the first thing that came to his mind was LAND ROVER. He constantly talked about buying a Land Rover and fixing it, maybe exporting it back to US and all that good stuff. I was a little bit anxious about his new passion. I finally gave in with a couple of conditions:
  • it should still look like a Land Rover when he's done
  • it will not cost a lot of time, money & energy
  • and lastly, he will finish this project

After living for a year here in UK, he finally did it. He bought himself a Land Rover. And now the project begins.

You are bidding on a 1975 Series 3 Truck Cab.  All the hard work's been done for MOT.  Tyres, brake pipes, welding etc.,  It's all been under sealed, and if I manage to get a photo downloaded, you will see she's been all painted up.  I bought this to do up and keep, but have just bought a 1972 tax exempt diesel, so no room for both.  As far as I know the only problems for MOT are;   washers inoperable - speedo inoperable - needs driver's seat belt. Sometime it will need new footwells (don't they all!) but nothing is dropping off, and she starts and drives well.

Found this site on accident. So I put myself out there.
